I just recently celebrated a birthday. And birthdays bring cake. I.love.cake. My personal favorite is strawberry with white chocolate cream cheese icing made by Kenny's step-mom. She's made one for me for the past 3 years. I cannot tell you the caloric joy this delectable deliciousness brings me.
You know birthdays really are cool days. I'm not big into gimme-gimme love & saturate me with gifts and attention. I just like being with my peeps and spending the day reflecting on the goodness & grit that God has given my life. This year Kenny has completely surprised me with a long weekend getaway. He told me on Sunday to be packed and ready by Wednesday of this week for a bit of fun. I was completely floored and super excited as surprises rank right up there with strawberry cake with white chocolate cream cheese icing.
Packing for a Spring long weekend trip in Tennessee is tricky. Temperatures range from mid forties to the mid seventies. It's important to consider comfort and torrential downpours and your overall cute factor just the same.
I thought it would be fun to share with you what's inside my suitcase as I anticipate a a few days sans schedules, kiddos & everyday chores and to-dos. That Kenny is getting a big kiss on the mouth for this.
I gravitate towards a puffy vest. It doesn't really matter the season. There's just something certain about keeping your core warm. I like it. I like it a lot. Gingham is all the rage right now. I should know. I've just completed my annual Easter basket sale. And I just had to throw in these shoes showcased here as well as my good ole Gladiator cuff to create a colorful fun here.we.go get-up.
Coral just happens to be my favorite color. And this Banana Republic cardigan was one of my latest scores Goodwill hunting. It's important for me to note here that I wore this sweater completely UPSIDE DOWN & BACKWARDS on my birthday. No bigs. Honesty really is the best policy. Oh, I love pairing different colors & prints together.
Floral, y'all. Say it with me. Nabbed this girl just last week for $1.50. I love that I can wear this frock as a sundress alone in the summer and with leggings in the spring.
By day 4 of the trip, let's be honest. You've consumed massive amounts of treats for the tummy. Divine desserts. An overindulgence in appetizers and perhaps one or thirty party drinks. Enter maxi dress. The ride home will feel like the equivalent of being 6 months pregnant and I plan to be absolutely prepared.
- #shinshow love {I have a tad obsession with my leg warmers.}
- What do I look like 6 months pregnant? {my prize winning belly dancer costume is rentable. Just sayin'.}

I packed a couple outfits for the after dark scene in case this trip keeps me in my real bra longer than 7 hours. This new polka dot sheer shirt will do me righteous. And those heels? Um, yeah. My favs!
Newbie alert! Scattered black hearts {$.50} with some rock out red accents and my happy peacock feet. Yes, yes. Oh, dance floor...where are you??
