the simple ensemble

There's something about simple and me.  As much as I hate to admit it, she and I don't normally jive.  I can't quite put my finger on just what it is that lures me to the uphill rather than the flat stretch or to the umpteen bajillion baubles and prints in lieu of a pair of jeans + tee, but whatever it is, I own it.  

I stretch myself on the regular.  In ridiculous Gumby ways and to extremes that are a teensy bit on the shade of cooky.  If I'm not juggling 10 things + painting my nails, well then, count the day as shot.  

And that's stupid.    

This year I'm really working on becoming Simple's good pal.  Let's be honest, she wouldn't have me for a best friend.  I'm okay with that.  But pals?  She and I can most certainly rock that status.

I'm looking at the big picture things that I do daily in a physical sense as well as how I know I operate best.  And I am pushing past the internal stigma that's buried in me to seek the better. To seek balance and sidle up to streamline for a glass of wine or two.  

And that doesn't mean that who I am [the baubles & prints CAP LOCK, the movement & the juggling] doesn't have to completely do an about face.  It just means that crazy isn't cool no matter how cute your outfit might be.  

What I am learning:

1. I like change more than I let on.
2. I am absolutely better on a team than alone.
3.  I am a natural encourager. 
4. Netflix might be the equivalent to prozac for me.
5. Therapy & counseling is a sign of strength.  I've been 2 times before.  I'm setting up my first next appointment in April.  
6. Less can be best.

Simple.  I like her.  I'm thinking she just might like me too.  I'm cozying up to her ways a little more.  I love that all I have to do is ask and she brings me new vibes and fresh looks on what color suits me best.  I'm listening, pal. I'm listening.
