{rapper's delight}

hop-collage-feature.jpg

hop collage 2 Yo, yo...it's Monday Tuesday.  SAY WHAAAT?  Fo shizzle, that's what happens when you're livin' the dream.  Days clockin' dollah bills, y'all just fuh-lie by.  I know what you're thinking.  It's quite possible I coulda been a rapper.  The lingo-jargon just works for me.  I know.  I've thought this on several occasions as well. Perhaps that's just the angle that the music industry needs:  a homeschooling mother-turned-rapper.  My flow would cover hard hitting topics like overdue publlic library fines, content based learning vs. free exploration and the woes of the under-socialized homeschooler.

With all this rapper talk, I thought it only fitting to throw you a little rapper's delight for my week here on this blog beat.  Rapper's Delight.  Remember the song? It was, in fact, the first ever recorded and produced rap song.  Clean cut with a bomb-diggity beat.  That's how I'm comin' atchu this week, homeys.  You feelz me?

grove park fire

Oh, this image is a sneak at glorious. It's where I spent my weekend. I experienced a first here. I unloaded some coal.  I listened.  I laughed.  I laughed A LOT.  And, I ate my weight in fine, fresh and deliciously fierce good food.  This out-of-state weekend jaunt was planned to perfection with peeps I hold like velcro in my heart.  Looking forward to spilling my goodness with you this week.

cheap thrills thursday

Newbie alert.  It has become clear to me through Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, private messages & emails and Facebook that my Cheap Thrills portion of this blog is appreciated on various levels.  Some comment or email saying that I crack them up with my silliness.  Others message me to ask the size of a certain garment and would like to know if they could purchase it from me.  {Not kidding}  And even still, some send me sneak peeks of discount clothing they have purchased only to say thank you for inspiring them to look outside the box when it comes to fashion and the proverbial price tag.  This post was such a popular hit last Fall.  My little Jordache post was HYPE receiving a little publicity from their company on Twitter & Instagram.  And this recent post?  Well, it has climbed its way to the happy charts with quickness as I showcased my spin on the Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. So, without further ado, I give you "Cheap Thrills Thursday".  Each Thursday, come visit to see what's cookin' in my land of cheap the financially fashion frugal.

Meet Melissa and her blog Finding Joy on the Journey! Finding Joy on the Journey started as I felt moved to record the blessings that occur in the every day. The beautiful blue sky, the warm sunshine on my face, the sweetness of a good book finished. I used to say, “simple pleasures” in high school and college. Only now they’re deeper than that. It’s deep-seated joy that isn’t based on circumstance. So I write here about joy in the midst of infertility, food allergy frustrations, depression, chronic health problems, and life just not turning out to be what we thought it would. (Is it ever?) The Lord’s name is to be glorified in it all, and that is what I want to do here on my little home on the web. I hope you’ll join me!
